A momentous meeting!

Last week we met up with our friend K, who recently brought her daughter home. It was lovely to see them together.
We had a great day. I was very privileged to have a quick cuddle! Thank you K.

Boys will be boys..

We recently bought a trampoline! It took M & I all morning & most of the afternoon to build it.

Then look what happened, our boy was more interested in playing with the box! He rushed in to the house, grapped his toy hammer & saw, and proceeded to destroy the box.
It didn't take him long to get the hang of it though.

Referrals!

The CCAA sent out referrals on friday.
It seem that there are 19 babies coming to the UK, including a set of twins & 2 boys.
Hearing this news gives us hope that we will get there in the end.

A New Job, hurrah!

M was offered the job in London, he was also offered a job nearer home.
So guess which one he took? Its been a huge relief to the both of us.
We are still sad that we won't be moving to China, we had so many plans, but we are moving on. We had a great trip to Suzhou & Shanghai & T saw thing most 5 year old won't even dream about.
Janet posted about the Olympic Friendlies (mascots) which reminded me of the ones T was presented with in Shanghai. In the picture is Charlie who we met out there, we plan to stay in touch. T & him beame great friends. Charlie showed us all round Shanhai & carried that big box arround all day! What a star.

Catching Up

I haven't posted for a time, the weather has been great so we have been out & about.
M & I have been to London. M had an interview, so we decided to make a trip of it.
As we both lived in London in previous lives- younger & single. It was nice to revisit some old haunts. We also saw a show -We Will Rock You. I'm would class myself a fan of Queens music, but I kn0w most of the songs. It was nice to escape for a while.

China Girl part 2

China Girl part 2, was on BBC Radio 4 at 11-11.30 am
If you haven't listened to it you should. This week it followed
3 families as they met their daughters. It was very emotive
& a wonderful positive representation of intercountry adoption.

Rumours

Its that time again when we are waiting for the CCAA to send out referals, soon we will all be checking out the CCAA & RQ sites. Its always a rollercoaster ride, up go everyones spirits, then down they fall. This month there were rumours that maybe, just maybe the end of november would be in. RQ is now mentioning referrals up to 21/11.
How I long to see the end of November 05!

Water water everywhere

It's still raining. When T woke up he said 'mum it really is morning, its not dark, its raining again, where has the sun gone?'
It seems that the main topic of conversation is the weather. How typically British. Worcestershire, Hereford & Gloucester have been badly affected. Oxford is expecting it next. It seems that the rain is running from the Welsh hills into the borders.
It's not funny anymore.
RAF and Coastguard helicopters have winched more than 100 people to safety and others have been rescued by lifeboat crews. It's all very sureal.
Our friends have family affected, the water is just inches from their doorstep, the garden is flooded & they've seen the fish from their garden pond making a bid for freedoom down the street.

China Girl

I've just listened to 'China Girl' on BBC radio 4. It was presented by Emily Buchanan, who wrote
'From China With Love', so she's the right person for the job.
Part one covered the home study, it featured some friends of ours, who told of being turned down by panel & their successful IRM appeal - very moving. Next week follows our friend K after her referal.
You can listen agin here; http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/chinagirl/pip/setfg/

There is also a report of a British couple, who having brought their daughter home discovered she was a twin.

Its Raining Again

Today is St. Swithins Day

There is a superstition that if it rains today then it will rain for the next 40 days!
What's it been doing already?
'St. Swithins day if thou dos't rain
For forty day it will rain
St. Swithins day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain nae more'
Come on St. Swithin, give us a break.
School finishes at the end of the week, the children are going stir crazy, we live near some great beaches & we want some sun please.
